Wild Flowers

Wild Flowers
  by: Brenda Urbanek, , Heartwarmers4u

Each spring brings a new blossom of wildflowers in the ditches along the highway I travel daily to work.
There is one particular blue flower that has always caught my eye. I've noticed that it blooms only in the morning hours, the afternoon sun is too warm for it. Every day for approximately two weeks, I see those beautiful flowers.
This spring, I started a wildflower garden in our yard. I can look out of the kitchen window while doing the dishes and see the flowers. I've often thought that those lovely blue flowers from the ditch would look great in that bed alongside other wildflowers. Everyday I drove past the flowers thinking, "I'll stop on my way home and dig them." Gee, I don't want to get my good clothes dirty..." Whatever the reason, I never stopped to dig them. My husband even gave me a folding shovel one year for my trunk to be used for that expressed purpose.
One day on my way home from work, I was saddened to see that the highway department had mowed the ditches and the pretty blue flowers were gone. I thought to myself, "Way to go, you waited too long. You should have done it when you first saw them blooming this spring."
A week ago we were shocked and saddened to learn that my oldest sister-in-law has a terminal brain tumor. She is 20 years older than my husband and unfortunately, because of age and distance, we haven't been as close as we all would have liked. I couldn't help but see the connection between the pretty blue flowers and the relationship between my husband's sister and us. I do believe that God has given us some time left to plant some wonderful memories that will bloom every year for us.
And yes, if I see the blue flowers again, you can bet I'll stop and transplant them to my wildflower garden.

Letting Go

Letting Go
  by: Dee Edgett, Source Unknown

There was once a lonely girl who longed desperately for love. One day while she was walking in the woods she found two starving song birds. She took them home and put them in a small glided cage. She nurtured them with love and the birds grew strong. Every morning they greeted her with a marvellous song. The girl felt great love for the birds. She wanted their singing to last forever.
One day the girl left the door to the cage open. The larger and stronger of the two birds flew from the cage. The girl watched anxiously as he circled high above her. She was so frightened that he would fly away and she would never see him again that as he flew close, she grasped at him wildly. She caught him in her fist. She clutched him tightly within her hand. Her heart gladened at her sucess in capturing him. Suddenly she felt the bird go limp. She opened her hand stared in horror at the dead bird. Her desperate clutching love had killed him.
She noticed the other bird teteering on the edge of the cage. She could feel his great need for freedom. His need to soar into the clear, blue sky. She lifted him from the cage and tossed him softly into the air. The bird circled once, twice, three times.
The girl watched delighted at the bird's enjoyment. Her heart was no longer concerned with her loss. She wanted the bird to be happy. Suddenly the bird flew closer and landed softly on her shoulder. It sang the sweetest melody, she had ever heard.
The fastest way to lose love is to hold on too tight, the best way to keep love is to give it -- WINGS!

Don't

Don't
  by: Cory, Source Unknown

Don't think that no ones loved you,
because they've turned away.
Don't feel they didn't care for you,
because they couldn't stay.
Don't damn the world for not returning
the love you feel you've given.
Don't hate the one that you were yearning for,
because he couldn't make a commitment.
Just think of him as experience,
and think how much you've grown.
Think of him as the sacred prince
who placed you on a throne.
Think of all your times together,
feeling closer since you're apart.
Think of your plans of now and forever,
and hold them in your heart.
And don't let yourself feel so much hate
when he's no longer your other.
For when you're both at Heaven's gate,
that man will be your brother.

Can You Ever Love Me for Me?

Can You Ever Love Me for Me?
by: Miriam Campo, , Source Unknown

Can you ever love me for me?
For the me that I am true and true
Can you love me with my imperfections?
Can you see me as I am and not as what you want me to be?

Can you ever love me for me?
For the me that makes mistakes and speaks without thinking
Can you love me even when I am unreasonable?
Can you see me as I am and not for the Angel you seek?

Can you ever love me for me?
For the me that cries when a stranger child is hurt
Can you love me when I am sad without me having a reason to be?
Can you see me as I am not as what I once was?

Can you ever love me for me?

Homecoming

While waiting to pick up a friend at the airport in Portland, Oregon, I had one of those life changing experiences that you hear other people talk about, the kind that sneaks up on you unexpectedly.
This one occurred a mere two feet away from me. Straining to locate my friend among the passengers deplaning through the jet way, I noticed a man coming toward me carrying two light bags. He stopped right next to me to greet his family.
First he motioned to his youngest son (maybe six years old) as he laid down his bags. They gave each other a long, loving hug. As they separated enough to look in each other's face, I heard the father say, "It's so good to see you, son. I missed you so much!" His son smiled somewhat shyly, averted his eyes and replied softly, "Me, too, Dad!"
Then the man stood up, gazed in the eyes of his oldest son (maybe nine or ten) and while cupping his son's face in his hands said, "You're already quite the young man. I love you very much, Zach!" They too hugged a most loving, tender hug.
While this was happening, a baby girl (perhaps one or one-and-a-half) was squirming excitedly in her mother's arms, never once taking her little eyes off the wonderful sight of her returning father. The man said, "Hi, baby girl!" as he gently took the child from her mother. He quickly kissed her face all over and then held her close to his chest while rocking her from side to side. The little girl instantly relaxed and simply laid her head on his shoulder, motionless in pure contentment.
After several moments, he handed his daughter to his oldest son and declared, "I've saved the best for last," and proceeded to give his wife the longest, most passionate kiss I ever remember seeing. He gazed into her eyes for several seconds and then silently mouthed, "I love you so much!" They stared at each other's eyes, beaming big smiles at one another, while holding both hands. For an instant they reminded me of newlyweds, but I knew by the age of their kids that they couldn't possibly be.
I puzzled about it for a moment then realized how totally engrossed I was in the wonderful display of unconditional love not more than an arm's length away from me. I suddenly felt uncomfortable, as if I was invading something sacred, but was amazed to hear my own voice nervously ask, "Wow! How long have you two been married?"
"Been together fourteen years total, married twelve of those," he replied, without breaking his gaze from his lovely wife's face.
"Well, then, how long have you been away?" I asked.
The man finally turned and looked at me, still beaming his joyous smile.
"Two whole days!"
Two days? I was stunned. By the intensity of the greeting, I had assumed he'd been gone for at least several weeks, if not months. I know my expression betrayed me, I said almost offhandedly, hoping to end my intrusion with some semblance of grace (and to get back to searching for my friend), "I hope my marriage is still that passionate after twelve years!"
The man suddenly stopped smiling. He looked me straight in the eye, and with forcefulness that burned right into my soul, he told me something that left me a different person. He told me, "Don't hope, friend ... decide!"
Then he flashed me his wonderful smile again, shook my hand and said, "God bless!" With that, he and his family turned and strode away together. I was still watching that exceptional man and his special family walk just out of sight when my friend came up to me and asked, "What'cha looking at?"
Without hesitating, and with a curious sense of certainty, I replied, "My future!"

Footprints in Time

Footprints in Time
  by: Lauren Posey, Source Unknown

Two young lovers, Walking on the sand,
Gazing at each other, Talking hand in hand,
The prints they leave behind them,
Marking memories of the past,
The long beach laid before them,
Hoping love will last,
The ocean captures the footprints,
And erases them from the shore,
Taking with it remembrances,
And leaving them with more,

Many years have passed,
Time flies when you're having fun,
And before you know it innocence fades,
And the teen years are done,
Now she's back on the beach,
Except she is alone,
Watching and waiting,
For the love that hadn't grown,
She walks along the ocean,
Two footprints, not four,
Wondering where the laughter went,
Why he didn't love her more,
Then she stops to sit,
And draws his name in the sand,
A celestial stranger comes along,
And reaches out a hand,
Hesitantly she takes it,
And he listens to her cries,
He's been there before,
He's heard many lies,
They decide to walk,
And she follows, not knowing why,

Love will always be reborn again,
Even if it may die,
She is more cautious than before,
And as she looks back at the footprints,
She smiles seeing not two, but four,
This time will be different,
Her heart trying to say,
Something magical happened,
She felt it the first day,
Something clicked when they touched,
A jolt from inside,
She knew he'd be there always,
If she had something to confide,

Now here it is twenty years later,
And his love for her,
Is now even greater,
He looks at her like the first time they met,
And despite all the years gone by,
They can never forget,
Those four special footprints,
That are never washed away,
They'll stay forever on her heart,
Until their dying day.

Beauty Is in the Eye of the Beholder

She was not beautiful.
Nothing about her was extraordinary.
Nothing about her made her stand out in a crowd.
She grew up in a family of six.
The eldest, she learnt responsibility at an early age.
As she grew stronger, and brighter,
She instilled a sort of light cheer to whomever she met.

She was not beautiful.
But she made others feel beautiful about themselves.
She meets a rebel boy who thinks he's all man.
Befriending him, she teaches him how to read,
A little boost the man needed to go to college.

They became friends fast and she fell,
Fast in love with her rugged, handsome student.
The "man" then finds himself in a dilemma
He soon found himself in love with a girl.
A girl so beautiful, she turned even the grouchiest men's head.
Her hair was a halo of light around her,
Her eyes the bluest blue of ocean.

Like an angel he tells his tutor
Like a beautiful angel.
The girl swallows a lump at her throat

She was not beautiful
She did not possess the heart of the one she loved
But she did not care.
As long as he was happy,
She would be or so she tried to.

She helped him write the most beautiful letter to his angel
All the time envisioning that it was she herself
Receiving those very letters.
And so the girl helped him choose the right words,
Buy the right gifts for his angel
His angel brought him much joy
And much pain to the girl who cried behind her smiles.
But that never stopped her from giving more
Than she will ever receive.

Then one day, all hell broke loose
The angel he loved left him for another man,
A richer, more successful man.
The boy was stunned
He was so hurt he did not speak for days
The girl went to him
He cried on her shoulder and she cried with him
He hurt and so did she.

Time went by.
And so the wounds heal.
The boy realizes something about his friend/tutor
He never realized before.
How her laughter sounded heavenly
Or how her smiles brightened up the darkest days.
Or simply how beautiful, yes beautiful she looked to him!

Beautiful.
This plain, simple girl was beautiful to him.
And he began to fall.
Fall so in love with this beautiful girl.

On one day, he picked up all his courage to see her.
He walked to her house, nervous ad fidgeting.
Running his thoughts over and over in his head.
He was going to tell her how beautiful she was to him.
He was going to tell her how wonderfully n love he was with her.
He knocked.
No one was home.

The next day he found out,
The beautiful girl he fell in love with had brain aneurysm
That put her into a coma.
The doctors were grim and the family decided to let her go.

One final time he got to see her.
He held her hand.
He stroked her hair,
And he cried for this beautiful girl.
He cried for he will never see her smile
Or hear her speak his name

He cried.
But it was too late.

The beautiful girl was buried and the heavens broke out
In a beautiful spring shower, a cry for their loss.
She was the most beautiful girl in the world.

Look around you.
Aren't there a lot of plain faces?
Take a good look
A real good look or you might miss out
On that beautiful person.

Forever.

Recipe For Love

This is a recipe I have been trying to capture without failing, but it isn't that easy. It takes two people and two only to make it come out right. It takes a lot of time with both parties working hard to make it mix. If one stops working then it will be destroyed. This recipe is so delicate, it is much worse then making a souffle. Not only do you have to worry about it falling, but you must worry if it will last until the end. You must be very careful when mixing, so as not to include unwanted things. The blend must be all of the below contents or you will bring something from the oven that is not so pleasant. Do not let outsiders help you to mix the bowl as their karma may enter that is unwanted. Make with both of your hearts, minds, bodies and souls, and it will bring a lifetime of the two of you together as one.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of kisses
  • 1 Cup of caresses
  • 1 cup of loving glances
  • 1 cup of putting the other one first always
  • 1 cup of wonderful remarks to the other
  • 1 cup of pride
  • 1 cup of patience
  • 1 cup of kindness
  • 1 cup of admiration
  • 1 cup of understanding
  • 1 cup of passion
  • 1 cup of open mindedness
  • 1 cup of love

Method:

A pinch of hope, a pinch of forgivness and a pinch of help

fulness

Mix all ingredients together and live a life time filled with love for each other. If by chance any ingredient enters the mix that is unwanted, empty the bowl and start from scratch.

Bake in the oven for all time, peeking once in awhile to make sure it hasn't burned.

Serve on top of all the memories made by the two of you and enjoy for a lifetime.

How Much Does a Prayer Weigh

Christian Inspirational Story
How Much Does a Prayer Weigh

Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries. She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work. They had seven children and they needed food.

John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store. Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can." John told her he could not give her credit, as she did not have a charge account at his store.

Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family.

The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, "Do you have a grocery list?" Louise replied, "Yes sir." "Okay" he said, "put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries."

Louise hesitated a moment with a bowed head. Then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scale went down and stayed down. The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, "I can't believe it." The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales.

The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more. The grocer stood there in utter disgust.

Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement. It was not a grocery list. It was instead a prayer which said: "Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands."

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence. Louise thanked him and left the store. The customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said, "It was worth every penny of it."

It was sometime later that the grocer discovered the scales were broken; therefore, only God knows how much a prayer weighs.

Love Text Messages 10

I’ve always thought that i have
2 fight 4 what i really feel..
I’ve fought & got hurt,
still i tried 2 give it a chance..
But now i don’t know if i still believe
in that kse tao lang ako... Napapagod din!!

If you were beside me,
i'd stare at you, look deep into your eyes
while holding you very tight...
And as i look at your face,
i'd close my eyes and pray...
I' wish to god...God...
Sana habambuhay akin lang sya..."

Nasaktan ka ba ng malaman mong
may mahal na kong iba?...
Pasensya na ha..ayoko na kasing umasa...
pagod na rin kong maghintay...
pero makakatulong ba kung sabihin kong...
handa ko siyang iwan para sa yo....

sabi nla t*nga ako, sabi nila bobo ako,

Love Text Messages 9

I could never find another one who
could compare to you.
I may love again but not the way i have loved you.
You may only be a part of my past
but you know what?
Everytime i see you, i whisper...

magamamahal syo...

I don’t want to see you happy for a moment
but always. i never want to see you crying even
for just a second, but if that’s the only way to
ease the pain in your heart..

Love Text Messages 8

Sabi mo gusto mo ko,
sabi mo konting panahon na lang
magkakasama na tayo,
sabi mo iiwan mo na sya…
sabi mo intayin kita,
sabi mo mas mahal mo ako,
bakit ngayon asan ka na?
Bakit kapiling ka pa rin nya.

The only way to know if someone
truly loves you is when after
you’ve turn him down you see him rise
from the fall, walk up to you and
say mahal kita! Higit pa sa ginawa ko dati!

Sabi mo andyan ka lang..
Pero bakit wala ka?
Sabi mo di mo ko iiwan..
Pero asan ka? Sabi mo mahal mo ko..
Pero bakit d ko maramdaman?
Yun pala sinabi mo lang lahat yun...
Para d ako masaktan

Pag sobrang lapit mo sa isang kaibigan,
matutunan mo syang mahalin noh?
Kaya wag kang lalapit sa akin ha?
At baka mahalin kita…

"kahit masakit, pinilit kitang kalimutan...
Kahit masakit, pinilit kong wag umiyak...
Kahit masakit, pinilit kong wag magtiis...
Pero kahit anong gawin ko,
kaw parin ang mahal ko eh...
Kahit masakit!"

Kung noon pa sinabi ko na,
eh di sana kasama na kita...
Kung noon pa sinabi ko na,
eh di sana tayo na talaga...
Ngayon alam mo gusto kita,
pwede pa ba? Di na siguro,
dahil sabi mo, "noon pa sana."

Iiwan mo ko? Sayang!…
mahal pa naman kita…
sakin ah!

Love Text Messages 6

Even if someone already owns your heart,
i dont give a damn!
Though the pain is killing me,
i wont care at all! I wont steal you from her but ill
tell her... "mahalin mo siya para sa akin ha..."

Diba sinabi ko sayo noon pa na gusto kita?
Pinaramdam ko rin sayo na kelangan kita diba?
Isang araw tinabihan pa kita at sinabing,

Aalis ako kasi may iba kang gusto..
.Aalis ako kasi alam kong mahal
mo cya at mahal ka rin nya...
Aalis na lang ako ha?
Kasi sa tingin ko,masaya ka na...
Pero babalik din ako...
Pag iniwan ka nya

Der are times in my life that
i just want 2 give up & let lose,
but have you ever thought why
I’m still here fighting against depression..?
Kse andyan ka e...
Wag mo ko iiwan ha..! Bibigay ako

Love Text Messages 4

Sabi nila… find a true person,
yung tanggap ka?
yung di ka iiwan in times of trouble..
yung the best?!

while holding you very tight...
And as i look at your face,
i'd close my eyes and pray...
I' wish to god...God...
Sana habambuhay akin lang sya..

Nasaktan ka ba ng malaman mong
may mahal na kong iba?...
Pasensya na ha..ayoko na kasing umasa...
pagod na rin kong maghintay...
pero makakatulong ba kung sabihin kong...
handa ko siyang iwan para sa yo....

sabi nla t*nga ako, sabi nila bobo ako,

Love Text Messages 2

I don’t want to see you happy for a moment
but always. i never want to see you crying even
for just a second, but if that’s the only way to
ease the pain in your heart..

I’ve always thought that i have
2 fight 4 what i really feel..
I’ve fought & got hurt,
still i tried 2 give it a chance..

We were given: Two hands to hold. Two legs to walk. Two eyes to see. Two ears to listen. But why only one heart? Because the other was given to someone else. For us to find.

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.

Ang Matampuhin (The Sulker)

This Tagalog poem was written by Lope K. Santos. It describes a woman who has a sensitive temperament. The mimosa plant is called damong makahiya in Tagalog.

Damong makahiya na munting masanggi’y
nangunguyumpis na’t buong nakikimi,
matalsikan lamang hamog na konti’t
halik ng amiha’y mabigla sa dampi
mga kinaliskis na daho’y tutupi’t
tila na totoong lanta na’t uns’yami.

Mutyang balintataw ng buwang maningning
sa salang mabiro ng masayang hangi’y
pipikit na agad sa likod ng dilim,
panakaw-nakaw na sa lupa’y titingin,
sa tanaw ng ulap at ng panganorin.

Malinaw na batis ng mahinhing bukal
na napalalabo ng bahagyang ulan,
kahit dahong tuyo na malaglag lamang
ay nagdaramdam nang tila nasugatan;
isang munting batong sa kanya’y magalaw
ay dumaraing na at natitigilan.

Matingkad na kulay ng mayuming sutlang
kay-sarap damitin at napakagara,
munting mapatakan ng hamog o luha,
ay natulukot na’t agad namumutla;
salang malibangan sa taguang sadya’ y
pinamamahayan ng ipis at tanga.

Kalapating puting may batik sa pakpak,
munting makalaya’y malayo ang lipad;
habang masagana sa sariling pugad,
ay napakaamo at di lumalayas;
nguni, pag sa palay ay minsang manalat,
sa may-alagad man ay nagmamailap.

Oh, Pusong tampuhin! Ang langit ng buhay
ay wala sa pusong laging mapagdamdam;
hindi nagluluwat ang kapayapaang
mamahay sa palad na hubad sa lumbay;
kaning maya’t-maya at, nakamamatay!

Sa Tabi ng Dagat (By the Sea)

This famous Tagalog love poem was written by Ildefonso Santos in 1897.

SA TABI NG DAGAT

Marahang-marahang
manaog ka, Irog, at kata’y lalakad,
maglulunoy katang
payapang-payapa sa tabi ng dagat;
di na kailangang
sapnan pa ang paang binalat-sibuyas,
ang daliring garing
at sakong na wari’y kinuyom na rosas!
Manunulay kata,
habang maaga pa, sa isang pilapil
na nalalatagan
ng damong may luha ng mga bituin;
patiyad na tayo
ay maghahabulang simbilis ng hangin,
nguni’t walang ingay,
hangganq sa sumapit sa tiping buhangin...
Pagdating sa tubig,
mapapaurong kang parang nanginigmi,
gaganyakin kata
sa nangaroroong mga lamang-lati:
doon ay may tahong,
talaba’t halaang kabigha-bighani,
hindi kaya natin
mapuno ang buslo bago tumanghali?
Pagdadapit-hapon
Talagang ganoon:
Sa dagat man, irog, ng kaligayahan,
lahat, pati puso
ay naaagnas ding marahang-marahan...

Dahil Sa Pag-ibig (Because of Love)

This Tagalog poem was written by IƱigo Ed. Regalado.

DAHIL SA PAG-IBIG

KAHAPON...
Sa tingin ko’y tila pawang kalumbayan
ang inihahandog ng lahat ng bagay,
pati ng mabangong mga bulaklakan
ay putos ng luksa at pugad ng panglaw;
akala ko tuloy itong Daigdigan
ay isang mallit na libingan lamang.
Mangyari, Kahapon
ang dulot mo’y lason.

NGAYON...
Sa mga mata ko ay pawang ligaya
ang inihahandog ng bawa’t makita,
pati ng libingang malayo’t ulila
wari’y halamanang pugad ng ginhawa;
sa aking akala’y tila maliit pa
itong Daigdigan sa aking panata.
Papaano, Ngayo’y
nagwagi ang layon.

BUKAS...
na inaamihan at hinahabagat;
itong Daigdigan ay isang palanas
na nabibinhian ng lungkot at galak.
Bukas! Ang pag-asa’y
mahirap mataya...

AWA SA PAG-IBIG

by: jose dela cruz aka Huseng sisiw

Oh!

At inilagak mong sabing nahabilin,

Napalungi namang patad yaring palad,
Sa ibang suminta’t gumiliw ng tapat.
